Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar has announced that his 21st feature film will reunite him with past collaborators Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem.
Reports indicate that Almodóvar will begin production on “Dolor Y Gloria” (or “Pain and Glory”), in July. Cruz has been an Almodovar staple since the '90s ("Live Flesh," "All About My Mother," "Volver," "I'm So Excited") and Banderas since the '80s, ("Women on the Verge of A Nervous Breakdown," "Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down," and "The Skin I Live In.")
The director’s latest film will recount “first loves, second loves, mother, mortality, an actor with whom the director worked, the 60s, the 80s and the present. And the emptiness, the immeasurable emptiness before the impossibility of continuing to make films.”
Cannes will no doubt be in the film's future come next year's edition
