While everybody was freaking over Christopher Miller and Phil Lord being fired from the Star Wars/Han Solo film, replaced by Ron Howard, and Woody Harrelson reminded us all to chill and calm down because "Obviously the force is with us," there was still no word on who would actually nab the coveted directing credit on the film. Howard would have had to shoot more than half the movie, 51%, to be credited as "director.
Well, it seems like we have our answer, Star Wars News Net's The Resistance Broadcast has pointed us towards our friends over at Slashfilm that Ron Howard reshot something like 80% of "Solo: A Star Wars Story," which has consequentially doubled the film's budget. I doubt Disney minds actually adding to the budget, but double? Yikes. They surely already knew that would be the case when they fired Lord and Miller, right?
As much as I'd love to see Chris Miller and Phil Lord's,, purported more comedic version of Solo, I do prefer for 80% of the film to be reshot because two clashing visions is never ideal in a movie, which is why we oughta be concerned about Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon's upcoming "Justice League."
