Is this movie seriously happening? Whoopi Goldberg and Charlie Sheen starring "9/11" will be released this September

There's no hiding the fact that Charlie Sheen was, maybe still is, a conspiracy-chasing loon that believed "9/11" was an inside job. He hasn't been shy about it either saying publicly "The 9/11 story is a fraud," among many other things. So, it's quite surprising to find him starring in an upcoming fall movie about the tragedy.

"9/11" is set for release this September 8th and will be distributed by Atlas. It is based on Patrick Carson's stage play "Elevator," they should have probably kept that title, and is being geared up with the tagline "The world watched it, we lived it." Yikes.

According to EW: "The film recreates actual events adapted from voicemail messages left by victims. The story follows five people trapped in an elevator inside the World Trade Center’s North Tower. The group works together to find hope amid seemingly inescapable circumstances."
