Now THIS is more like it. Denis Villeneuve is a visually gifted filmmaker and these teasers are showing, in full force, the potential of his upcoming "Blade Runner 2049." The full trailer is supposed to be released on Monday.
Here’s the official synopsis:
"Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years."
The good news is not only Villeneuve behind the camera - Hampton Fancher, who wrote the original Blade Runner, and Michael Green (Logan), have collaborated on the screenplay. But, that's not the best part. Quite possibly the greatest cinematographer of my time, Roger Deakins, is photographing the film. Can the anticipation get any greater?
Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James with Dave Bautista and Jared Leto star in the film, which will be released on October 6.
