New image of Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill in 'Darkest Hour'

Many people already saying the Oscar is his to lose next year. Gary Oldman has been around for nearly 4 decades and he has yet to have won the golden statuette. "Leon," "Dracula," "True Romance," "The Dark Knight," "JFK," "State of Grace," and, of course, "Sid and Nancy." Just cancel the show and give this man the Academy Award.

Joe Wright ("Atonement," "Pride and Prejudice," "Hannah") directs.

The film opens on November 24th, 2017.

EDIT: Responding to a friend of Facebook who as concerned this won't transcend "typical brit studios exports of very safe, traditional, and predictable biopics." My answer: "Well I do like Joe Wright better than Tom Hooper. Anyone that can shoot that astounding Dunkirk longtake in 'Atonement' is fine in my books, even if they were responsible for 'The Soloist'"
