James Gunn's role in the MCU has been overblown by fans, according to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. There’s no discounting the fact that Gunn infused the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies with his unique style and managed to create a sort of “Star Wars” inspired enterprise for the 21st century. With the Guardians success, the MCU quickly adopted Gunn’s brand of humor and action into their other movies as a result.

The chances of a Disney MCU movie being rated R are next-to-nada. The Mouse House’s bottom line has always been about making money first and then, buried much lower down its list of priorities, artistic merit. Sorry Fanboys, that’s just the way it is, we could have gotten better versions of the “Iron Man,” Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Captain America” movies if it were not for the constraints that come in attaining that ever-so-box-office-cushiony-PG-13 rating. So, no, contrary to what many thought would happen, I knew all along that “Black Widow” was not going to be blessed with an R.

When Disney bought Fox, Marvel head Kevin Feige was saying don't expect the X-Men or any other Fox entities to join the MCU for, at least, a handful of years after the deal is done.
He stated the characters weren't under Marvel's control yet so until the deal goes through and that happens he's not planning anything.
However, the deal has gone through and Feige's boss over at Disney Bob Iger, speaking to [THR], is saying Feige is ready to oversee the X-Men, Fantastic 4, and Deadpool.
"I think it only makes sense [that Feige takes over]. I want to be careful here because of what's been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels."
On If Deadpool could become an Avenger:
"Kevin's got a lot of ideas. I'm not suggesting that's one of them. But who knows?"
