Andy Serkis is directing this. Netflix planning on a theatrical release. But does anybody care?
Wikipedia:
"Originally scheduled to be released in October 2016 by Warner Bros., the film was delayed numerous times to work on the visual effects and to create space between itself and the April 2016 release of Disney's own Jungle Book adaptation. In July 2018, Warner Bros. sold the rights for the film to Netflix."
Not a good sign that Warner Bros. sold this to Netflix, probably due to total lack of confidence with the film. The stench of "Cloverfield Paradox" comes to mind.
"Mowgli" is set for a limited release in theaters on November 29, 2018, followed by its subsequent digital Netflix release on December 7, 2018.
