Let the whining and complaining commence again! Sight and Sound announced today that they will unveiling the full top 250 of their All-Time Films poll this coming Tuesday.
What I’m most curious about is where the 21st century films stack up: “There Will Be Blood,” “The Tree of Life,” and “Mad Max: Fury Road” were all missing from the already-published top 100.
Also, where will the films that were supposed to make the top 100, but didn’t, place in the top 250? We had no “Raging Bull,” “Lawrence of Arabia,” Rio Bravo,” “Chinatown,” Touch of Evil,” “The Godfather Part II,” “Pickpocket,” “La Grande Illusion,” and “Gertrud.”
Every single one of the 1600+ individual ballots, plus comments, will be published on March 2nd. I had previously posted some of the individual ballots for Sight and Sound’s directors poll, gathering up around 85 lists.
