America loves “Ant-Man.” Audiences came out in droves last night for the latest MCU extravaganza and the Box office numbers prove it.
Previews of “Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” amounted to an impressive $17.5 million total, and that’s just previews! Its projected 3-day total has now been upped to around $100 million.
‘Quantumania’ easily surpassed the $12 million preview total earned by the last “Ant-Man and the Wasp” in 2018 and edges the $17 million Thursday preview total of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” in 2017.
Word is that screenings, especially the evening ones, are sold out in all the big theaters across the country, and that’s despite the bad reviews. Rotten Tomatoes has “Ant Man 3” at just 48% and on Metacritic it’s at 50. MCU fanatics don’t care. ‘Ant Man’ also brings out the adult crowds who are less inclined to like the other Marvel stuff. Paul Rudd is an underrated box-office draw.
