Seems like James Gunn might have another headache on his hands. “Shazam” star Zachary Levi will probably have a shitstorm headed towards him after this tweet:
Cue the Twitter meltdowns in 3, 2, 1 …
He then tweeted a link to a 2009 statement from the Department of Justice announcing that Pfizer had to pay $2.3 Billion in a settlement for fraudulent marketing over misbranding an inflammatory drug.
Whether you agree or disagree with Levi’s sentiments about Pfizer (and really, who wants to defend big Pharma), it’s quite ballsy of the actor to post something like this, and on Twitter of all places.
The timing of the tweet is also notable given that the new trailer for “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” was released this past week and the film will be out on March 17. Homie calculated the worst possible time to get cancelled, right before the marketing of the movie was about to start. You can’t help but laugh at this.
With that being said, Levi is probably still one of the least controversial actors of the DCEU, at least if you compare him to Ezra Miller.
The DCEU has had to deal with Miller, AKA The Flash choking a woman, grooming children, punching multiple people, committing armed robbery and illegally housing a mother and three young children on an unlicensed cannabis farm. He hasn’t been fired. I presume Levi is safe as well.
