Well, can’t say I’m surprised.
Will Smith has announced that the fourth Bad Boys movie, called “Bad Boys 4,” is officially happening. Why couldn’t they just call it “Bad Boys 4 Life”?!
Chris Bremner, who wrote the last one, is back to pen the new screenplay. No director has been announced. Michael Bay seems to be out of the running. The previous film’s directors, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who also directed the unreleased “Batgirl,” are rumored to be back.
It’s unclear if the movie has actually been greenlit or if Smith and Martin Lawrence decided to jump the gun. You’re probably asking yourselves, “wait a second, wasn’t Will Smith “cancelled” after he assaulted Chris Rock live on TV? It seems he hasn’t.
Smith’s comeback vehicle “Emancipation” turned out to be a bust late last year, with its Oscar hopes completely shattered by bad reviews. It’ll be interesting to see if this new ‘Bad Boys’ movie is actually a success.
