Although Pedro Almodovar is fully on-board Ana De Armas winning Best Actress for “Blonde,” he seems to be, for good reason, a major fan of Todd Field’s “TÁR.”
During a masterclass in Spain, Almodovar mentioned the film a couple of times, including its lead actress Cate Blanchett:
"Everyone go see it, I don't even know what you're doing here instead […] It’s a masterclass of acting from an amazing actress. TÁR is a tribute to this wonderful woman."
Almodovar also mentioned how he'd still like to work with Blanchett, and that he feels indebted to her. If you remember, what was supposed to be his first English-language feature, “Manual of A Cleaning Woman” was canned after he got cold feet.
