If you want a film that’ll rattle your nerves then look no further than Eric Gravel’s “Full Time,” which is being released in select theaters this Friday. Single, divorced mother Julie (an impressive Laure Calamy) struggles to balance work and raising her two young kids. Every morning, she has a long commute to Paris where she works as a chambermaid at a luxury hotel. At the same time, she applies for a marketing research job at a firm, repeatedly tries to contact her ex-husband about missing alimony payments and is threatened by banks for unpaid mortgage payments. Her job, not to mention responsibilities as a mother, remain constantly at risk. “Full Time” holds your breath for its tense 87 minutes delivering a character study of overwork and frustration. The film is a stressful experience, one that recalls the relentlessness of The Safdies and “Uncut Gems,” right down to the techno music score by Irène Drésel. This is a wild ride of a movie.
