It does sound like Robert Rodriguez has a new film brewing. This one is titled “Incognito” and is set to star Jessica Alba and Michael Peña. A fall production in Austin is being eyed.
Alba and Peña will play siblings who also happen to be covert agents in what’s being described as a “fast-moving” thriller. Juan Carlos Coto wrote the screenplay.
Rodriguez could probably use a good movie right about now — his last four efforts were not well received at all (“Red 11,” “We Can Be Heroes,” “Hypnotic,” and “Spy Kids: Armageddon”).
Rodriguez will always have a place in cinema history for directing “El Mariachi,” which he shot for $7,000 and transformed into one of independent cinema’s greatest success stories. His other notable films include “Desperado,” “From Dusk Till Dawn,” and “Sin City.”
