This evening, Wes Anderson was part of a masterclass in Paris. The filmmaker revealed that a trailer for “The Phoenician Scheme” will be released next week — Benicio Del Toro was also confirmed as lead of the film.
Furthermore, Anderson mentioned that Michael Cera and Mia Threapleton are the co-leads. Set in the ‘40s, the espionage story is said to revolve around a businessman (Del Toro) and his family.
The rest of the cast includes Bill Murray, Riz Ahmed, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Willem Dafoe, Rupert Friend, Benedict Cumberbatch. Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jeffrey Wright, Bryan Cranston and Hope Davis.
‘Phoenician Scheme’ was recently picked up by Focus Features. A limited release of May 30 was set up with a wide expansion on June 6. A Cannes premiere is now inevitably going to occur for the film.
