Just a few weeks after the 97th Oscars, Conan O’Brien has agreed to return and host the 98th Oscars telecast on March 15, 2026, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday.
The last Oscars was the first time that O’Brien had been tasked to emcee the event. Quite honestly, this was one of the best choices the Academy could have made. He was great, even though the ceremony went on for a mind-numbing 4 hours.
O’Brien was certainly an upgrade from Jimmy Kimmel who had hosted the last two Oscar ceremonies, to mixed results. If anything, I wish O’Brien had more screen time because whenever he would appear, the ceremony would get a much-needed boost in laughs.
