Let’s call this our quote of the day. The honor goes to Christopher Walken who tells The Wall Street Journal that his relationship with technology is nonexistent to the point where he clearly can’t distinguish the difference between Twitter and X.
I don’t have technology. I only have a satellite dish on my house. So I’ve seen ‘Severance’ on DVDs that they’re good enough to send me. I don’t have a cell phone. I’ve never emailed or, what do you call it, Twittered.
Walken, 81, is a legend. We’re blessed to still have him around, and acting — most recently in “Severance,” and ‘Dune 2.’ He will forever be known for his turn as Nick in “The Deer Hunter” — giving the best performance in a film that featured Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro and John Cazale at the peak of their powers.
There are many great Walken stories out there, my favorite having happened when a Redditor spotted him at an airport, seated and waiting for his flight to arrive — it’s exactly how you would expect Christopher Walken to appear like at the airport — just staring blankly at nothing. His facial expression is a hybrid of disturbance, anger, frustration and bewilderment.
