“Creed III” was Michael B. Jordan’s directing debut, and he’s now set up his sophomore effort, which happens to be familiar territory for cinephiles (via Deadline).
It looks like Jordan has signed on to direct and star in “Thomas Crown Affair” for Amazon MGM Studios, which will is planning to release the film in theaters. Drew Pearce wrote the script. A previous draft, based on the original film, was written by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson.
This will be the third ‘Thomas Crown’ film. The most recent one, released in 1999, starred Pierce Brosnan as a rich philantropist who enjoys stealing art for a hobby and meets his match in an insurance investigator (played by Rene Russo). They quickly fall for each other. The original 1968 film, directed by Norman Jewison, starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway.
