The MCU’s “Spider-Man 4,” the follow-up to 2021’s mega successful “No Way Home,” was originally supposed to begin production this fall, in late September. However, I doubt that’ll happen now, which begs one to ask when exactly the film would be able to start production.
Sony still doesn’t have a director attached for this one. They don’t even have a script. And yet, “scooper” Daniel Richtman is claiming that Marvel has set up a July 2026 release date for the film. The story is rumored to be multi-verse linked. It’s all up in the air, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Richtman is wrong here.
Jon Watts, who helmed the first three Spideys, has graduated to making films with George Clooney and Brad Pitt (“Wolfs”). A sequel is already in the works. He was said not to be interested in coming back for ‘Spider-Man 4.’ They should just hire Sam Raimi to take over, especially since Tobey Maguire is rumored to come back for another instalment.
Tom Holland and Zendaya are set to return in their respective roles in “Spider-Man 4.” However, Marvel boss Kevin Feige better hurry up with this one. Zendaya’s 2024 and 2025 schedule are practically booked as she’s set to shoot a film with Robert Pattinson this fall, the final season of “Euphoria” during the first half of 2025 and, potentially, “Dune: Messiah” in August 2025.
