Jenna Ortega and Glen Powell are set to star in JJ Abrams’ next film. Abrams wrote the script, and his Bad Robot is producing. Plot details are being kept hush hush, and a production start date hasn’t been revealed yet.
Now we have Daniel Richtman reporting that Harrison Ford is being eyed to join Abrams’ film. We’ll see if anything comes of this latest development. Ford has already worked with Abrams before, on “The Force Awakens,” and they both have deep connections to Steven Spielberg.
A recent Production Weekly listing had Abrams’ film going by the name of “Acorns,” and the plot revolving around “a young married couple struggling to survive against a supernatural entity.” Abrams’ reps couldn’t confirm or deny this info to me.
Abrams is the creator of acclaimed shows such as “Felicity,” “Alias” and “Lost.” Then he “graduated” into film and directed “Mission: Impossible 3,” “Star Trek,” and “Super 8,” among others. He was once dubbed as “the next Spielberg,” but has been absent from the director’s chair ever since infuriating the Star Wars fanbase with his Disney-backed trilogy.
