Looks like things are starting to take shape when it comes to Christopher McQuarrie’s “Broadsword,” which was first reported on yesterday.
Firstly, the film is eyeing a summer 2025 production start. This means Cruise is available to shoot his Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu film during the first half of next year. I presume ‘Top Gun 3’ will be happening after things wrap up on “Broadsword.”
Secondly, it looks like Oscar winner Marion Cotillard and Henry Cavill are in talks to join Cruise on the film. Cavill co-starred with Cruise in 2018’s “Mission: Impossible — Fallout,” and this will be Cotillard’s first film with Cruise.
“Broadsword",” set during WWII, will tell the story of an S.O.E. operation and a marine captain who crashes in France and becomes the sole survivor. Against all odds, he must complete his mission amidst the chaos of war.
