Last week, it was reported that Timothee Chalamet would star in Josh Safdie’s “Marty Supreme,” which will tell the wild story of former Ping Pong champion Marty Reisman. The film will be produced by A24.
I’m now learning that Darius Khondji will be the cinematographer on “Marty Supreme.” This is very encouraging news. The Iranian-born Khondji is one of the very best DPs in the biz with a filmography that includes “Se7en,” “Midnight in Paris” and “Amour”
Some additional news. “Marty Supreme” will be starting production in August. We can expect it to be released next year. This will be Josh Safdie’s first film since his split with brother, and directing partner, Benny Safdie. Their films together included “Good Time,” and “Uncut Gems” (which Khondji also shot).
