The Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, founded by Hollywood Unlocked CEO Jason Lee, celebrates accomplishments and contributions for the Black community, in all fields.
This year, they’ve decided to troll the public by presenting Jonathan Majors with the “Perseverance Award” at its Los Angeles ceremony on June 21. The award, per the organization, is “given to an individual who has shown that no matter what adversity they face, they will continue to aspire and inspire.”
This is wild stuff. Nothing says “aspiring” and “inspiring” more than Jonathan Majors. If that wasn’t enough for you tune in to the ceremony, none other than Tiffany Haddish will be emceeing the event. Camera need to be rolling by June 21. So far, no broadcast is being planned for television.
Majors’s once-promising career was recently canceled after having been convicted of reckless assault and harassment in December. He was sentenced to a 52-week, in-person domestic violence intervention program in April. The case, which had been extensively reported on, for many months now, involved an altercation Majors had with his girlfriend in March of 2023.
