Ryan Coogler’s next film, starring Michael B. Jordan, and set a March 7, 2025 release, has added to its cast. This is one hot project that sparked a bidding war in February. Warner Bros finally landed the rights.
Deadline reports that Jack O’Connell is in talks to play the villain in the film. Meanwhile, THR adds that Delroy Lindo is also part of the cast. More casting is said to be announced in the coming weeks. The film is supposed to start production this coming month in Georgia.
A recent report from Daniel Richtman adds that O’Connell is playing the “racist white villain” in the film, which is set in the ‘30s South, centers on vampires, with dual twin roles for Jordan, and the filmmaking heavy in “anime influences.”
The ‘30s Jim Crow South setting is not an accident. There’s been word that the plot would revolve around Vampires going to war against the Ku Klux Klan. That actually makes sense given the setting of the film which is smack dab in the middle, and during, the height of the Klan.
