Here’s Variety reporting that Paolo Sorrentino has already set up his next film. “La Grazia” (“Grace”) is set to star Sorrentino muse Toni Servillo (“The Great Beauty”). Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is being described as “a love story set somewhere in Italy.”
Sorrentino is coming off “Parthenope,” being released stateside by A24 in February. I wrote in my Cannes review for the film that it was a “disappointment” and that Sorrentino had “nothing new to say” in his depiction of the most beautiful woman in the world. It might just be the worst-reviewed film of Sorrentino’s career.
The Italian filmmaker had previously released “The Hand of God” in 2021, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Venice and was nominated for the Best International Film Oscar. Other notable works in his filmography include “The Great Beauty” and “Il Divo.”
