Jason Momoa, formerly Aquaman, has been cast as Lobo in “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” (via Deadline). It should be noted that THR’s Bory Kit had originally reported the potential casting of Momoa in 2023.
An antihero, hailing from the planet Czarnia, and known for his violent and eccentric personality, Lobo possesses superhuman strength, and regenerative abilities. A bounty hunter “who enjoys chaos and destruction.” Lobo has yet to be depicted in a big-budget Hollywood movie.
“House of Dragon” star Milly Alcock is set to play Supergirl.” The role was down to just two actresses: Alcock and Meg Donnelly. Alcock prevailed, and that’s a good thing. As tepid as my interest in Gunn’s “Supergirl” is, I do have to admit that Alcock was far and away the best thing about “House of Dragon.” I hear she’s also great in the show “Upright.”
Craig Gillespie (“I, Tonya”) will be directing “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” for James Gunn’s DCU. The plan is shoot this one in January 2025. It’s expected to hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
