It’s pretty amusing how David O. Russell (“Three Kings”) has turned into this un-cancellable filmmaker. He can punch a Sony exec in the stomach, one of his many questionable exploits, and still, somehow, land himself inside a hot new project with two big actors attached to star.
Deadline is hearing there was competitive bidding for Russell’s Apple TV+ series “Bananas.” Not just that, Oscar Isaac and Ana de Armas are set to star. Russell will direct and co-write the screenplay. No plot details have been revealed.
Russell, a five-time Oscar nominee, is set to direct the Amazon MGM Studios film Madden starring Nicolas Cage and Christian Bale.
