A trailer has just been released for A24’s “Death of a Unicorn.”
As he was watching the WNBA playoffs and playing video games in his basement, John Carpenter managed to complete a side project: composing the score for “Death of A Unicorn.” Yes, that’s a snippet of his music playing in the trailer.
Alex Scharfman’s debut feature, starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, concerns a father and daughter who "accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat," where the father's billionaire boss (played by Richard Grant) "seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties.”
“Death of A Unicorn” is produced by Ari Aster, and also stars Téa Leoni, Will Poulter, Anthony Carrigan, Sunita Mani, Jessica Hynes, and Stephen Park. A24 does not have a release date yet but are promising a spring 2025 release. A SXSW premiere might be in order for this one.
