Bong Joon Ho’s “Mickey 17” has been delayed, yet again, for the third time since it wrapped its production in November 2022. It’s been a long and arduous journey for the film, one filled with rumors of reshoots, different cuts, studio intervention and polarizing test scores.
Warner Bros. has moved the Robert Pattinson-led sci-fi film to April 18, 2025, three months after the previous release date of January 31, 2025, and almost a year after its original theatrical scheduling of March 29, 2024. Still, this is good new for Bong’s film as it now moves away from the dumping grounds of January.
This new April date used to belong to Antoine Fuqua’s “Michael,” and since that film just recently moved to an October rollout, Warners decided to snatch up the vacant slot for “Mickey 17.” Bong’s film is now set to secure a lot more IMAX and premium large format screens than it would have in January.
