Leos Carax's Next Film, Starring Lea Seydoux & Adam Driver, Prepping Up Shoot in 2025

November 25, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

French master Leos Carax has his new docu-fiction, titled “C’est Pas Moi,” streaming exclusively on Mubi; it runs a little under an hour and is a reflective “essay” piece that premiered out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

I had previously reported that Carax’s next film would star Léa Seydoux and Adam Driver. That’s quite the pairing. The film was said to begin filming “soon.” That’s about all that we knew back in May;

French producer Charles Gillibert (who produced Carax's "Annette" & "C'est Pas Moi") is interviewed in the latest issue of Cahiers du Cinéma, and confirms that this next one will be more expensive than “Annette” (which cost $16M). Given that the budget is being amassed, a 2025 shoot is being planned for the film.

Carax is coming off his 2021 Cannes-winning “Annette,” which also starred Driver. He tends to take years between making films. His filmography is literally composed of just six films: 1984’s “Boy Meets Girl,” 1986’s “Mauvais Sang,” 1991’s “Lovers on the Bridge,” 1999’s “Pola X,” 2012’s “Holy Motors,” and 2021’s “Annette.”
