Aaron Sorkin has set up his next film over at Warner Bros, it’s called “Shadow Flyers.” This is the first I hear of this project, but it does sound as though it might be Sorkin’s next film. No plot details or casting were revealed in yesterday’s Production Weekly listing.
Earlier in the year, Puck’s Matthew Belloni reported that Sorkin was writing a movie about the capitol protests of January 6, 2021 in Washington DC. Sorkin described it as a quasi-sequel to “The Social Network.” Yeah, incoming discourse on this one will be totally sane. No word yet on whether this next project is that movie.
“Shadow Flyers” is set up to be Sorkin’s third film as a director, his last one was Netflix’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7,” released in 2020, and 2018’s excellent “Molly’s Game.” However, Sorkin is primarily known as a writer first and director second; his most notable credits include “The Social Network,” “Moneyball,” “A Few Good Men” and TV’s “The West Wing.”
