I realize I haven’t written much about Adam Schimberg’s “A Different Man,” which expanded nationwide over the weekend. It’s well worth seeing.
Sebastian Stan is great as an aspiring actor who undergoes a radical medical procedure to drastically transform his facial deformities. Adam Pearson is his equal as the man who steals his thunder (and girlfriend).
It’s pitch-black dark comedy, and inventively put together by Schimberg. A24’s expansion has resulted in glowing reviews and wonderful counterprogramming to some of the clunkers currently playing at multiplexes. Seek it out.
