We already know about Ridley Scott’s threats to make a third ‘Gladiator’ movie, which would again star Paul Mescal, and for which he’s already written 8 pages. However, his plans don’t stop there.
In the latest issue of Film Hounds, Mescal tells the magazine that “Ridley and I have plans to make more movies together outside of “Gladiator.” What those movies are, we don’t know. To be honest, it could be any of the SIX projects Scott currently has in development.
Scott, 87, is attached to direct the Bee Gees biopic “You Should Be Dancing” early next year. There’s the aforementioned “Gladiator III,” the western “Wraiths of the Broken Land,” his adaptation of Kevin McMullin’s short story “BOMB,” the Wall Street thriller “Big Dogs” and the spy thriller “Queen & Country.”
I should briefly mention what I’ve been hearing about the Bee Gees biopic. For weeks, there have been rumors that Paul Mescal and Harry Styles are in talks to star in the lead roles. Mescal’s latest comments make total sense. I would bet hard that his casting gets announced soon.
