This is certainly a surprising update.
Tom Holland has been cast in Christopher Nolan’s next film, which is still untitled and has a July 17, 2026 release date. This comes after Matt Damon had been previously announced as the lead of the film (via THR).
Holland is mostly known for his role as Spider-Man, and starring in a whopping six MCU movies. Beyond being Marvel’s golden boy, Holland’s other credits include “Cherry,” “In the Heart of the Sea,” “Uncharted,” “Chaos Walking,” and “The Devil All The Time.”
It should also be noted that THR’s sources are saying that Nolan’s film is NOT set in present day. Variety’s sources recently nixed any hopes of “The Prisoner” being Nolan’s next film. They’re also saying that it’s not sci-fi. Rather, it might be a film firmly planted in the “espionage” genre.
