During the holidays, I had reported that an August 2024 production start date was set for Matt Reeves’ “The Batman: Part Two.” I figured I’d repost the details since this August date has now leaked online.
DC head James Gunn had previously stated that no script was submitted to him — a deadline is, however, set for a February script submission, with casting to follow soon afterwards. The film still has an October 3, 2025 release date, but that could change.
Expected to return for the sequel are Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell and Barry Keoghan. There have been rumors of Dick Grayson, aka Robin, also joining in this time around. Nothing’s been confirmed.
“The Batman” (2022) was hailed as an ambitious return to form for the Caped Crusader. It was a near 3-hour movie that grossed $369.3 million in the United States, and $401.6 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $770.9 million.
