Terrence Davis, 77, is the filmmaker behind “Distant Voices, Still Lives” and “The Day Closes.” It’s always worth checking up on what he does next.
The latest news is that Davies’ long-developing “The Post Office Girl” is unlikely to happen, currently in development hell, but the good news is that he plans to shoot a new feature in Jamaica.
I’m working with EMU Films (who produced Benediction) on a new script that may take us to Jamaica, so fingers firmly crossed for that! I’m sworn to secrecy at the moment. But we’ve finished the second draft of the script and now we’re starting to make approaches to lead cast.
No other details were given. Davies has this fervently cultish fanbase who abide with anything he does. His last few films, some of which were rejected by Venice and Cannes, but wholly embraced by NYFF, include “A Quiet Passion,” “Benediction” and “The Deep Blue Sea.”
