Here’s another movie that rips off Scorsese’s ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ — there have been many of them lately. David Yates’ “Pain Hustlers” premiered at TIFF, and the reviews have been terrible.
We’ve been getting a lot of films, and docs, lately tackling the corruption of pharma companies. Yates isn’t saying anything new here. It’s exactly as the trailer entailed: highly stylized and empty.
The film stars Emily Blunt, Chris Evans, Andy García and Catherine O’Hara, and is an adaptation of Evan Hughes’ book of the same name. It’s set to stream, via Netflix, on October 27th.
