Consider me shocked by David Zaslav’s Warner Bros hiding the actual budget of “The Flash.” It turns out, it’s not the originally reported $220 million, but, rather, almost $100 million more.
THR is reporting that “The Flash,” which only grossed $268 million worldwide, actually cost $300 million and that doesn’t even count an additional $150 million dished out for marketing. You do the math. The film might have losses in excess of $200 million.
Warner is hoping to bank additional profits via The Flash’s August 25th VOD release, but this is going to end up being the biggest bomb of the summer. I don’t think anything else comes close to beating it.
