Here’s an interesting tidbit from Slash’s Ethan Coen article. It turns out “Drive-Away Dolls” was co-directed by Coen and writing partner Tricia Cooke, but don’t tell that to the DGA:
First off, it's important to Ethan that moviegoers understand that he has not "gone solo." He co-wrote "Drive-Away Dolls" with Cooke (his wife of 33 years) and shared directorial duties as well (something the Directors Guild of America is weird about acknowledging).
“Drive-Away Dolls” is the first instalment of Cooke and Coen’s planned “lesbian b-movie trilogy.” They will also write and direct the next two films.
