Variety’s Elsa Keslassy has the exclusive.
Pablo Larrain (“El Conde”), Michael Mann (“Ferrari“), Sofia Coppola (“Priscilla“), Yorgos Lanthimos (“Poor Things”) and Michel Franco (“Memory”) have all been officially invited to premiere their films in competition at Venice.
Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers” and Luc Besson’s “Dogman” are also due to turn up, but out of competition. Ditto Woody Allen. Keslassy does note that Besson’s film could be upgraded to competition later on.
The article doesn’t mention other noteworthy fall titles such as Alexander Payne’s “The Holdovers,” Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” Emerald Fennell’s “Saltburn,” and Roman Polanski’s “The Palace.”
