Isabelle Huppert is Currently Shooting Hong Sang-soo’s Latest

June 30, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

Hong Sang-soo is an unstoppable machine. The notable Korean writer-director has won prizes at so many major film festivals, and he keeps releasing two films a year, which has become the norm for him.

Now we’re hearing the prolific Hong has another film currently being shot in South Korea with none other than Isabelle Huppert. This would be their third collaboration together.

Knowing how quick the turnaround is with this filmmaker, it stands a good shot in premiering at next year’s Berlin Film Festival or, since Huppert is practically French royalty at this point, maybe even Cannes 2024,

If you ask me, Hong hasn’t made a better movie than his 2016 gem “Right Now, Wrong Then.” He wasn’t as prolific back then, but he absolutely nailed the themes, characters and dialogue in that film.
