Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers,” is being released on September 15th, it’s a not that far fetched to believe that will most likely premiere at Venice.
A trailer was just approved by the ratings board and is ready to go. If we’re lucky then we’ll maybe be getting it next week. It’ll be interesting to see what Guadagnino does with what seems to be more commercial filmmaking.
Also, Guadagnino going back to Venice makes perfect sense. He won the Best Director prize there last year for “Bones and All.” There are even rumors that it might open the festival. I’d bet it’s either his film or Lanthimos’ “Poor Things.”
“Challengers” is being described as romantic comedy. The plot is said to be a love triangle between Zendaya’s character and her two male lovers, Mike Faist plays her husband and Josh O’Connor her ex.
