Earlier this week, Steven Soderbergh confirmed that he had two new movie projects lined up next, both of which he wanted to “come out theatrically in a normal wide release”.
Soderbergh added that both were “genre” films and that one of them was a comedy. Well, after a little digging, I can confirm that the other one is a horror film, well, actually, a “psychological thriller,” but very much in the vein of horror.
The film is called “Presence” and it is set to shoot in September, writers strike permitted. The story takes place in a suburban house inhabited by an unknown force. No further details were given.
We’ll be keeping a close watch on this one as the cast should hopefully be announced shortly. This will be Soderbergh’s eighth film since coming out of retirement back in 2017.
