Some more bad news for Kang The Conquerer.
Jonathan Majors could be imprisoned for up to a year if found guilty of a charge that was unveiled yesterday in his domestic violence case.
The class A misdemeanor has a maximum possible sentence of 12 months behind bars or a three- year probation term.
This got his attorney, Priya Chaudhry, all up in a fury. She slammed the proceedings as a “witch hunt” and a by-product of “the racial bias that permeates the criminal justice system”
So, it seems like Majors and his entourage will be playing the race card to get him out of trouble. It’s been a rough couple of months for him. The optics didn't look good for him when his management team and PR dropped him after more accusers came out of the woodwork.
If he is not guilty then his attorney sure is making him look guilty. Maybe he can use the time travel abilities he Inherited as Kang to go back in time and change the course of events that led to this debacle.
Meanwhile, a petition is circulating for John Boyega to replace Majors as Kang in the MCU.
What’s so incredible about Majors’ epic downfall is the timing of it. He had two #1 movies at the box-office and another Oscar buzzed title premiering at Sundance. His stock was skyrocketing.
Majors is supposed to earn $20 million for next year’s “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.” There is time before they have to make a decision regarding the actor's MCU fate. We all know where this is going, but it’s a very slow-moving train in that regard.
Additionally, Majors is supposed to play Dennis Rodman in a movie. He's also set to star in Spike Lee's DA UNDERSTUDY … produced by Will Smith.
I can’t see either of these projects keeping him on.
As for “Magazine Dreams,” which was bought by Searchlight at this past January’s Sundance Film Festival, the Oscar buzz for Majors’ impressive performance is forever gone. I imagine the film will now be, quietly, dumped in the dead of winter 2024.
