It’s looking as though Jonathan Majors’ career is ending before it even started.
Deadline’s Anthony D'Alessandro, Dominic Patten are reporting that Majors’ own managing team, Entertainment 360, have dumped the actor over his legal troubles. The reason given was “due to the numerous issues when it came to his personal behavior.”
Majors started off the year very strongly with “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” both topping the box-office. This was in addition to the rave reviews he received out of Sundance for his turn as a mentally disturbed bodybuilder in “Magazine Dreams”.
Searchlight Pictures actually won a bidding war for “Magazine Dreams”, which was acquired out of Sundance and given an awards-ready December 8, 2023 release date. No doubt, Majors was going to be Searchlight’s big Oscar push for Best Actor.
Well now, given the circumstances, those Oscar hopes have faded away quickly. Majors is in a lot of legal trouble and his career is most probably kaput. It is even rumoured that Marvel Studios are looking for an actor to replace Majors as the MCU's Kang the Conqueror.
Majors was arrested on March 26th and charged with assault and harassment in an alleged domestic dispute with his female partner.
He was one of the industry’s rising stars and the most exciting recent addition to the MCU. But now he’s been accused of domestic abuse and the matter isn’t going anywhere.
