As with all Christopher Nolan films, “Oppenheimer” has been shrouded in secrecy and will most likely remain that way until it starts getting screened in the summer.
However, Matt Damon has seen the film and he had this to say about it:
"It's fantastic. It's three hours. Cillian [Murphy] is everything you'd want him to be. He is phenomenal.
Obviously, Damon can’t really say the movie is bad. I’m more interested in the fact that a) it is indeed 3-hours and b) Murphy has been pointed out by more than a few people for his performance, which sounds very baity for Oscar.
Murphy stars alongside Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh. Rami Malek and Robert Downey Jr. in this period epic that, as mentioned, is 180 minutes.
“Oppenheimer” will be shot in IMAX analog black and white by Nolan and DP Hoyte Van Hoytema. The cinematographer has been Nolan’s go-to ever since “Interstellar.” Wally Pfister was Nolan’s previous go-to, but he made the decision in 2013 to stop working with him to focus on his own work.
Murphy will play the father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer. A man who, despite inventing the deadly weapon, wanted to place International controls on his dangerous invention, post-Hiroshima.
