Yesterday afternoon, The Hot Mic’s Jeff Sneider was the first to report that Marvel’s “Captain Brave New World” was moving to February 2025 after it "didn't do great in a test screening.”
About an hour later, word of the delay was made official by the trades. This sent some shockwaves around the industry as this movie, and “Deadpool 3,” were supposed to be Marvel’s big 2024 tentpoles.
Sneider went on to report that, after receiving negative test scores, ‘Brave New World’ is also getting extensive reshoots — from January to May —with three major sequences being cut. Yes, that’s a whopping five months of reshoots.
‘Brave New World’ had originally wrapped filming last June, and was set for a July 2024 release date, so something must be up for sure. You don’t just push a movie this big out of your calendar unless trouble is brewing.
