As he was watching the WNBA playoffs and playing video games in his basement, John Carpenter managed to complete a side project: composing the score for A24’s upcoming “Death of A Unicorn” (via Bloody Disgusting).
Alex Scharfman’s debut feature, starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, concerns a father and daughter who "accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat," where the father's billionaire boss (played by Richard Grant) "seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties.”
“Death of A Unicorn” is produced by Ari Aster, and also stars Téa Leoni, Will Poulter, Anthony Carrigan, Sunita Mani, Jessica Hynes, and Stephen Park. Filming wrapped a few months ago, so don’t be surprised if it has its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
