I gather many readers bought a ticket for Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” this weekend. This is a thread where you can post your thoughts on it. The film made close to $9.5 million on Friday, it should, hopefully, clear $25 million for the weekend. I reviewed it at Cannes and thought the first three hours were damn-near perfect. The last 20 or so minutes are a little wobblier, it’s territory that Scorsese has covered before, most noticeably in “Goodfellas,” but, man, that epilogue … brilliant! Brendan Fraser was incredibly miscast. He’s the blatant flaw of the film. DiCaprio, De Niro and Gladstone all deserve Oscar nominations. Scorsese, 81, is still a major force.
