Has anybody here seen “RRR”? It’s quite entertaining, the action is deliciously over the top, but you also feel its 3-runtime. Regardless, “Don’t Look Up” filmmaker Adam McKay isn’t happy with the India snub and he vows to do something about it: CAMPAIGN!
“This is a travesty. But let’s make sure it gets a best picture nom. Can we do a screening at the Rose Bowl? (How amazing would that be?) #RRR,” he tweeted.
I was shocked by India’s Oscar submission pick yesterday. They decided to select “Last Film Show” as their official entry for Best International Film. “RRR” has become a Netflix sensation, but if you read deeper into that country’s selection process then you quickly realize that it was all political. “RRR” is too divisive for Indians to get behind on.
“RRR” has an impressive 8.0 rating on IMDB, based on 100k votes. However, it practically stands no chance getting a Best Picture nomination. The campaign should instead be a dare to get as many academy members as possible to watch a 180 minute Indian film.
